Vitrum Glass Group is proud to introduce BirdOptik, a first-surface, permanent pattern designed specifically to enhance bird safety without compromising aesthetics or performance.

To effectively prevent bird collisions, glass must incorporate visual cues that birds can recognize.  This is achieved by introducing subtle “noise” or visual markers onto the glass surface — through visible patterns. These markers use a combination of absorbing and reflecting elements to create a visible barrier that signals to birds that the surface is not passable.

Vitrum’s BirdOptik allows projects to maintain high solar performance without compromising visible light transmittance (VLT) or solar heat gain coefficient (SHGC). The bird safe pattern is completed within Vitrum’s facilities and customers benefit from faster turnaround and reduced lead times.
